Shiny new things

What say you against my brick ruffian?
In the spirit of trying something new, and having something cool, I caved and bought an airbrush with compressor this past weekend. I've started using it on my Fancy Bandits for Nuclear Renaissance. The colors cover very well and evenly as seen below. Another advantage is I can mix my colors directly in the airbrushes pot. For the time being I am just trying to get used to the airbrush, how it paints, how to control the air/paint flow, cleaning/maintenance. Here's just a few minutes worth of paint on a handful of minis. Note they were also primed with the airbrush.

The small group I'm working on, and my shiny new airbrush.

Closeup on the few gents' that I have gotten the most paint on.
I've got a mind to use this firearm against you in a blind fury!
There's the beginning of the Fancy Bandits, I'll be spending this week becoming accustomed to the airbrush and its air-powered mysteries, and trying to get some more bandits covered in paint.

Progress so far

I'd like to get some criticism on what I'm doing so far. The fatigues are just Khemri Brown, the armour is based Adeptus Battlegrey, with Ultramarines Blue drybrushed over it, and the boots/pouches are a 1:3 Chaos Black and  Bestial Brown, not a bad color considering i don't have any other browns, and lastly the gun is just Adeptus Battlegrey, not sure what to add to it, but the whole model will be getting a Badab Black wash before its all over. Tell me what you think! Soon as I know exactly what I'm doing with these guys I know I can get them done relatively quickly.

The Fancy Bandits

Though the guys I have ordered will probably show up while I am out of town this week, I did find a mini at a local game store, The Grinning Gamer in Greensboro. Hes a Reaper mini, and definitely fits the Victorian Steampunk theme I'm going for. I will also try to work on this guy before the week is out. I really want to go all out on details on this guy. He has a large area on the back of his coat that's begging to have something cool painted on it, his cuffs as well. Stay tuned, I look forward to working on this one a lot.

Future Warriors

I've got some pics of 4 of the 5 the models I'm using in my Future Warriors warband for Nuclear Renaissance. They still need a name, I can come up with plenty, but never one good enough :(
Group Photo

Here's my Medic, hes done more harm than good thus far.

The Rifleman, doesn't ever seem to actually do anything...

Here's Action Hank, Hes got a big gun, and hes not afraid to use it.

Need a creative name for this one. was thinking of making him my Driver/Mechanic/Medic/Bard (that's all of the above, not just one).

The only one I am currently missing is a guy with a ballistic shield and a "large weapon" (which i imagine as a  4x4 with a handle and lots of sharp prickly bits). Their equipment is subject to change, for the time being. I will try to have these 4 painted by the end of the week, I've got an idea of how I want them painted, just hope the paint I need isn't too dried out.

Nuclear Renaissance

So as I stated in my first post, I have just started collecting a group (or two) of post-apoctalyptic ruffians to battle against other ne'er-do-well's in mortal combat, to the death or otherwise. I currently have a few models on order from The Virtual Armchair General. I stumbled across this site and the miniatures there that will fit the theme of my Victorian Steampunk crew after a few modifications and alterations. I look forward to punking them out as much as possible.

Look forward to getting my hands on these guys.
For the time being, I've assembled a small group of future warriors using some Pig Iron Miniatures that I purchased off of a friend who had no use for them (don't think they have the ones that im using anymore, but their new stuff looks badass). They could be used to represent a furture government force, or small group of elite wasteland warriors looking for the next kill. I will post some pictures of them as soon as I get a chance.
