Quick DeathRace Update

Its been too long since i posted something about this, or anything for that matter, but I finished the cosmetics on Sgt. Starr's Maggie, and started working on another vehicle. I'm being told I should call it Libyan Dawn, but well see how that works out. I don't think this one will have so much body work to do and will get knocked out a little quicker than Maggie.

I need to keep on these and get a few more built then roll some dice with them, as well as make some cool terrain bits and obstacles one might have to deal with in the apocalyptic, car combat filled, future.

Chem-War Soldiers

I had some Arab/PLO militia from Peter Pigs AK47 range sitting around for awhile. At the time i had wanted to put gas masks on them and get them painted, but it just never happened, I stumbled across them this past weekend while he was over and got to talking about them, and about 45 min later everyone had gas masks.

As you can see, I managed to get one of them painted. I really like the way he came out. They are remarkably creepy looking adorned with their new masks, I like it. I look forward to finishing them by the end of the week, and hopefully some more Death Race should pop up soon as well, including some recent purchases to fill in the field and bring some variety.

Death Race!

I have a few Matchbox cars that have been sitting around for some time now that I got the for the purpose of kitting out for a car combat game. I finally got around to working on one this week. Only a little bit more work to do on this one, a few more lumps of green stuff to fill in some areas and the rockets to be placed and it's off to the spray booth!

This is Sargent Starr of the Desert Patrols trusty truck, Molly. Molly is fitted with a .50 cal machine gun, multiple 4" rockets and a ram strong enough to take out the toughest of opponents.
Hopefully I can finish this thing soon and I can start working on the Raiders vehicle, The Boomer.

Smalls

I have this growing collections of single models that looked to cool to pass up at the time, but just never gotten around to painting them, I'm sure everyone has something similar to this, but I'm gonna try to make progress on these models. I'm thinking work on at least 1 model each week, and force myself to do a progress report to keep myself honest and on track.

I'm sure that I have more than this, but these were on my desk

These are some snipers from Warmahcine

Random assortment of Reaper Minis

More Reaper Minis

So I guess you'll see at least one of these guys next weekend with some work done to them, hopefully completed above all else.

Recent Absence

Ive been off of work for the past 2 weeks and decided to relax. Apparently I relaxed too much, too hard, cause I got almost nothing done, but man was it great. All I have to show for it is one more completed mini and work on about 4 others.

But I am painting more frequently than I used to, using my friends advice, "Just put some dam paint on it already" and believe it or not, its been working quite well. So with me going back to work this week and having reduced time at home, I will probably use my time more wiseley than doing absolutely nothing, and should knock some more stuff out soon.

Paint day at The Grinning Gamer

Chris over at Sippin on Paint Water held a paint session over at The Grinning Gamer in Greensboro this afternoon. He helped those that attended with different painting techniques and color sorcery. While he assisted the masses in his dark art, I was busy painting a Liche that I had purchased from the same store a few weeks ago. I put a good 4 hours or so into him, and think he turned out pretty badass.

Liche just wants a high-five!
Floating around with his ghostly trail
I like the color the armour turned out
I'm done with this guy for now. If I get back around to him later, I will probably add some more detail to his straps and buttons, etc. I still plan to add some painted cotton around his base to give him more of a ghostly vapor cloud to hover through, should be awesome! I should also be getting a lot of stuff painted over the next 2 weeks as I am between jobs and don't have much to do, and as I no longer have an excuse not to paint stuff.

Back from a long break

Haven't really been motivated over the past 2 months to post here or do much in that regard, but I'm looking to change that. I want to keep this blog active over the next year to prove to myself I can do it. I'm also looking to lose weight and better myself. So look forward to overviews of the places I travel every other week, frequent model updates, and things I'm changing or doing for myself. I look forward to a new year, and all of the opportunities that it may bring.

The start of... well something.

This is the start of my blog about my hobbies and a little about my life.
What hobbies will you be sharing you may ask, well, I'm involved in quite a few things. I tinker around with eletronics every now and again, love tech talk, and my computers.
I am a nerd by trade. I participate in Warhammer Fantasy and 40k, do have some Warmachine, and have just started playing Nuclear Renaissance (which if you haven't played, or heard of it, it's like D&D meets tabletop). So check in from time to time, you never know what I'll have up!
