I'd like to get some criticism on what I'm doing so far. The fatigues are just Khemri Brown, the armour is based Adeptus Battlegrey, with Ultramarines Blue drybrushed over it, and the boots/pouches are a 1:3 Chaos Black and Bestial Brown, not a bad color considering i don't have any other browns, and lastly the gun is just Adeptus Battlegrey, not sure what to add to it, but the whole model will be getting a Badab Black wash before its all over. Tell me what you think! Soon as I know exactly what I'm doing with these guys I know I can get them done relatively quickly.

Progress so far

Wish me luck!
I'm gonna sit down this afternoon with a good (GREAT is what I should have said according to her, lol) friend and get some stuff painted!!!
For those of you who don't know, I have an strange problem where i can't paint for extended periods without company, thus, nothing got painted while I was in Roanoke this past week. I plan on getting a lot of guys knocked out today!

Roanoke
I mentioned in a previous post that am out of town this week. I work as a contracted Server Engineer for BB&T, and every other week I'm out of town, somewhere in the southeast. This week I'm in Roanoke, Virgina. I've found this neat little page on the City of Roanoke's website. History of Roanoke
Though I have to say, I have never been in a place that had so many roads not connected to other roads, and every road with a 35 MPH speed limit, that's roads and highways...
Though it's located in a cool area, surrounded by mountains on all sides, always something to look at. If I see anything worthwhile I may get some pictures up by the end of the week.

The Fancy Bandits
Though the guys I have ordered will probably show up while I am out of town this week, I did find a mini at a local game store, The Grinning Gamer in Greensboro. Hes a Reaper mini, and definitely fits the Victorian Steampunk theme I'm going for. I will also try to work on this guy before the week is out. I really want to go all out on details on this guy. He has a large area on the back of his coat that's begging to have something cool painted on it, his cuffs as well. Stay tuned, I look forward to working on this one a lot.
Future Warriors
I've got some pics of 4 of the 5 the models I'm using in my Future Warriors warband for Nuclear Renaissance. They still need a name, I can come up with plenty, but never one good enough :(

Here's my Medic, hes done more harm than good thus far. |
The Rifleman, doesn't ever seem to actually do anything... |
Here's Action Hank, Hes got a big gun, and hes not afraid to use it. |
Need a creative name for this one. was thinking of making him my Driver/Mechanic/Medic/Bard (that's all of the above, not just one). |
The only one I am currently missing is a guy with a ballistic shield and a "large weapon" (which i imagine as a 4x4 with a handle and lots of sharp prickly bits). Their equipment is subject to change, for the time being. I will try to have these 4 painted by the end of the week, I've got an idea of how I want them painted, just hope the paint I need isn't too dried out.

Nuclear Renaissance
So as I stated in my first post, I have just started collecting a group (or two) of post-apoctalyptic ruffians to battle against other ne'er-do-well's in mortal combat, to the death or otherwise. I currently have a few models on order from The Virtual Armchair General. I stumbled across this site and the miniatures there that will fit the theme of my Victorian Steampunk crew after a few modifications and alterations. I look forward to punking them out as much as possible.
Look forward to getting my hands on these guys. |
The start of... well something.
This is the start of my blog about my hobbies and a little about my life.
What hobbies will you be sharing you may ask, well, I'm involved in quite a few things. I tinker around with eletronics every now and again, love tech talk, and my computers.
I am a nerd by trade. I participate in Warhammer Fantasy and 40k, do have some Warmachine, and have just started playing Nuclear Renaissance (which if you haven't played, or heard of it, it's like D&D meets tabletop). So check in from time to time, you never know what I'll have up!
